what does the mean in a text message

what does the mean in a text message

What is a short message service? SMS is a system used by mobile operators around the world to send text messages between mobile phones. A single SMS message can contain 70 to 160 characters depending on the type of text it contains.

SMS history
The development of SMS began in the early 1980s when multinational groups began to create standards for sending alphanumeric messages to mobile device users. The first SMS text message was sent on December 3, 1992. It was a simple “Merry Christmas” message. By 1993, carriers in Scandinavia, the United States and the United Kingdom began providing SMS to consumers,

Since then, the popularity of SMS has skyrocketed. In 1995, a typical mobile phone user sent 0.4 messages per month 1. By 2005, the number had increased to 62 messages per user per month, and in 2015 it had 548 messages per user per month 2. SMS is currently the world's most used data service. In 2017, it is estimated that more than 15 million SMS messages per minute were sent worldwide. This is about 8 trillion messages per 3 years!.

Send SMS message
The two main ways to send SMS messages are from one mobile device to another. From a computer to a mobile device. Transferring from one device to another is called P2P (Person-to-Person) messaging. Transferring from a computer to a mobile device is called application-to-person (A2P) messaging.

P2P messages are by far the most commonly used type of SMS message. However, developers, marketers, and business users often communicate with customers via AP2 messaging. The most common way to send A2P messages is by using a cloud-based customer engagement or messaging application. These applications typically include features other than sending emails. For example, to maximize the effectiveness of your SMS campaign, you can include tools to help you segment your customers into target segments. Or you can provide analytical tools to help you visualize your engagement rate.

SMS and customer engagement
Depending on your use case, SMS messages may be one of the most effective ways to send urgent or time-sensitive information to your customers. According to the study, SMS messages have an open rate of up to 90% 4. On the other hand, the email open rate is slightly less than 25% 5. In addition, 90% of SMS checks within 3 minutes of receiving a message, but only 13.7% of emails check within 1 hour after receiving5.

SMS messaging and AWS
You can use Amazon Pinpoint to track customer behavior and create segments based on that data. You can then send SMS messages to all customers worldwide. Amazon Pinpoint's SMS sending and receiving rates are very competitive, and customers only pay for the messages they send.

How to delete cache partition on Android?

How to delete cache partition on Android?

The cache is basically a temporary directory used by the system to download temporary files needed when installing applications such as: In general, deleting the cache partition has no noticeable effect on the end user. It also doesn't really free up any space either because it is mounted as a separate partition and therefore always uses the same amount of total disk storage space. All devices have default storage assigned to the cache, so clearing the cache according to Google doesn't help increase the storage available on your device (but this can also be reduced or not increased).

However, in this article we will help you to know how to wipe cache partition on all Android devices.

So, Android keep reading to learn more about deleting cache partitions.

Part 1: what is wiping cache partition on Android?
Temporary system data stored in the system cache partition. The cache allows a system to access applications and data faster, but in some cases the date is out. So it is good for systems with cache cleaning at regular intervals. This process helps the system to run smoothly. Remember this cache cleaning factory reset is different. Therefore, it does not affect your personal or internal data. Sometimes, it is also recommended to clean the cache after system update.
"Dalvik Cache":-/ Data / Dalvik Cache directory found on common Android devices. / When an application is installed on the Android OS, the application (the file contains all Dalvik bytecodes for the application) makes minor modifications and optimizations to the dex file. Now, this app cache ODEX (Optimized Dex) files in the dalvic cache directory. You can skip the step again and again each time this app is loaded.

It does not delete data or user settings from Android devices, so the effect of wiping the cache partition can affect the boot time of equipping the device.

Part 2: how do you wipe cache partition on Android?
In this part we will learn how to wipe cache partition on Android.

Method 1: recovery mode

1. Enter the recovery mode on the device. To start recovery mode, hold the power button, home button and volume up button all together. If this method doesn't work for you, browse the internet for a combination of friendly mobile models. Some devices (such as Moto G3 or Xperia Z3) don't work, so if you have another way to enter recovery mode, see how it works and check online.

2. When powered on, the device will load in recovery mode. Recovery mode gives you the option to clear the system cache from your device. This option is marked as 'wipe cache partition'. At this stage, use the navigation volume buttons.
3. Select this 'delete cache partition' option that will not delete data from your device. However, be careful not to select "wipe data / factory reset" option like this will erase all data from your device.

Now all old caches are cleaned and new caches are now created.

Method 2: clear from settings

1. Go to Settings and tap Save and you can see how much memory is being used by the partition from the cached data. To delete data:
2. Great if you have a confirmation box to complete the cached data and tab process.

Note: Some versions of Android OS do not delete the cache this way.

Method 3: cache individual apps

Sometimes the user can manually clear the cache data of a specific application. You can do this by following these steps −

• Go to Settings, and tap the app.

• Tap the application you want to delete.

• Tap Clear Cache, located near the bottom of the screen

Deleting a cached data application is very useful at a wise time when users have cached data for other purposes, but want to delete it from a specific application. Please note that this process is very long when you think of cleaning up all your cache data by this process.

So, this option allows you to select the cache you want to delete and is a really simple (but time consuming) process.

So, there are three ways for Android to delete cache partition.

Part 3: what if an error occurs while deleting cache partition?

There have been many recent complaints about errors in the process of cleaning the phone cache. The reason you cannot delete it may be that the RAM is still accessing the activity's partition. But before all that, this does not erase this important data and it is also recommended to do a hard reboot instead of a hard reset that will free up the RAM used. Besides, it also cleans stored unnecessary data and temporary files.

Another way is to clear the accumulated cache with the help of recovery mode. (After you end the call) You can enter the recovery mode of your device by holding volume power, and press the home button. Now you will have to wait for the little blue line of words to appear in the upper left corner, then you can turn off all the buttons after the recovery screen appears with a selection mark between several useful options. Using the volume button, now select the 'Delete Cache Partition' option. Then select the power button. This will help you successfully clean your device's cache and will also help clear the struck RAM in the loop to find blocks.

Throughout this article today, we deleted the cache partition that we learned about Android. This is a very simple process to free up space on your device from unnecessary garbage. The easiest and simplest of the three methods discussed is to use recovery mode. The risk to this device is also not a one step process. The cache should be cleared regularly after every system update. Keep the clock on the save options in the system settings to know the perfect time for clearing the cache. Clearing the cache doesn't interfere with any application data, but it can cause an increase in boot time for certain devices.

Note:-All indicated methods performed on Android's V4 (KitKat) platform.

Hope you enjoy reading this article and learn everything about Clear Android Cache!

Android tip: 7 ways to operate quickly

Android tip: 7 ways to operate quickly

When thinking of Android smartphones, the word “productivity” may not come to mind first. But that doesn't mean it can't replace BlackBerry or Windows Phone 7 smartphones. The 7 Android tips below will help you move more quickly and effectively on your device or by accessing your favorite apps, media, services, etc., by simplifying common Android mobility.(Note: The Android tips and techniques introduced below have been confirmed to work on Android version 2.2.1 of my Motorola Atrix 4G. However, some features may not work on other devices or other OS versions.)

1) Customizing your Android home screen

Customizing the individual home screens of Android smartphones is one of the easiest ways to quickly find frequently used apps. Any app can be moved anywhere within the home screen window.
When moving an app from the “Apps page” where all apps are stored, or moving from one window to another, simply press and hold for 1 to 2 seconds until a colored shadow appears under the app.
If you move an app from the app page to the home screen, it will immediately return to the last home screen page that was just before you turned on the app page. .To move an app within or between windows, simply press and hold for a while until the app is selected, then simply drag your finger left or right, or up or down. If there is an app you want to delete on the home screen, tap it to select the icon, then move it to the trash bin or similar icon that appears on the screen and throw it away.

2) Create widgets for frequently used apps on the home screen

One of the biggest advantages of the Android OS is that you can check information on the home screen without opening a real app or related service using various “widgets”. Widgets save time and show information that can be easily forgotten and overlooked. To register a widget in a window on the home screen, simply press and hold an empty space without other widgets or apps. Then, if you want to add a third-party app widget, select the Android widget. On the screen that comes up, scroll through the widgets and select the widget you want to register in the window on the home screen.Like the main system widgets, other widgets can be added by tapping on an empty space on the home screen page. The names of these widgets depend on the device model, make and OS version. In the case of Motorola Atrix 4G, there is an item called Motorola Widget that collects widgets with functions to control whether the device uses wireless Internet or plays music. Not all Android apps support widgets, so you need to make sure your favorite apps support widgets. However, Android widgets that are periodically updated can cause a lot of battery consumption depending on the settings. So it's not a good idea to fill your home screen with widgets you don't use.

3) Register a website shortcut on the Android home screen

You can also create shortcuts to your favorite web pages just as you did widgets for your app on the home screen. This eliminates the need to launch a browser and go to these pages. To create a custom Android shortcut on the home screen, navigate to the web page where you want to create the shortcut, press the Menu key to bring up additional selection options, then tap More. When prompted, choose Add Shortcut to Home. A new shortcut will be created in the last home screen window unless you receive a message stating that you cannot create a shortcut in the window because there is no place to add another shortcut to the window. You can also create a shortcut to your Android system options, such as Android settings or contacts, by holding down on an empty space on the home screen window for 1-2 seconds. However, you must select the shortcut item you want to add from the window that appears after selecting the shortcut described above, not the widget option.

4) Check and move the last used Android app

The best way to quickly move back and forth between frequently used Android apps is to press and hold the Android home button for a second or two, until 8 app icons that have recently been used appear on the screen. You can launch any of these eight apps by simply tapping the icons shown on the Recent page. The list of apps shown will change based on what the user has used most recently.

5) Check all Android home screen windows on one screen

The Android OS shrinks all home screen windows so you can quickly view them on one screen at a time. However, the way to access all of these window views can vary depending on the device or OS version. To access these viewing features in Motorola Atrix, simply press and hold the round home button on the screen until all of the home screen pages appear. Instead of having to scroll through multiple windows and find them, you can easily access them quickly by clicking on any window there. To launch all of these window views on HTC Droid Incredibles running Android 2.2, simply double-click on the actual button, not the “key” on the home button screen.

6) Organize apps using custom Android folders

In addition to customizing your home screen windows and adding widgets and shortcuts, you can add folders to your Android home screen to better optimize and organize your content on your smartphone. Create a new folder the same way you added a shortcut by tapping the space on the home screen until you see the options menu. After selecting the folder option, the new folder will be placed on your phone's home screen.

7) Perform the desired function by pressing the Android home button twice

Some Android devices, such as Motorola Atrix 4G, can be configured to perform different functions when the user presses the home button twice. For example, if you press the Home button twice at any time, you can set the function to open the dial pad of the camera or phone.
To do so, open Android Settings, scroll down and click on App Options, then double-tap Home on the next page and select Double tap home launch. Then press the home button twice to select the function you want to run, and you can go out and use it.
